While it is predicted that the world’s biodiversity will be reduced by two-thirds by 2020, in our modern world it is becoming more popular to keep wild animals as pets often in unfavorable conditions. Large mammals (specifically bear) and big raptors such as vultures and eagles suffer the most of this modern tendency. The main issue is the popularity of displaying live animals at private premises to attract visitors and customers.
Reptiles (rare lizards and snakes) are usually collected by private owners or foreign scientists without any permission, which may lead to extinction of these species.
